How to Make Numbers Using Plastic Canvas

Cut plastic canvas with a rotary cutter.

If you have plastic canvas in your craft scrap pile, use it to make numbers. You can make free-form numbers by cutting them out directly from the canvas. Or, you can place numerical stencils on top of the plastic canvas and cut them with a rotary cutter for more precise numerals.

Things You'll Need

• Cutting mat
• Numerical stencils
• Painter's tape
• Rotary cutter

Instructions

1. Place the plastic canvas on the cutting mat, which should be positioned on a flat surface.

2. Place the numerical stencil on top of the canvas.

3. Secure the stencil to the canvas with strips of painter's tape, which will not leave marks or adhesive on the canvas once you take the tape off.

4. Roll the rotary cutter along the inside frame of the stencil. You may have to roll the cutter twice.

5. Take off the tape and the stencil. Remove the number from the canvas sheet. Repeat with other numerical stencils.
