How to Make a Quilted Skirt

The variety of color and fabrics allow for the development of intricate patterns and the emergence of a unique style. When the same concept is applied to clothing, the result is equally visually pleasing, as well as a unique way to recycle old fabrics. It's easy to create a pattern that resembles a quilt on an already existing skirt with a bit of cutting and sewing.

Things You'll Need

• Completed skirt
• Various fabrics
• Sewing machine
• Straight pins

Instructions

1. Begin with a skirt pattern for your preferred skirt. Chose a white cotton fabric to make the skirt.

2. Complete the skirt.

3. Cut various shapes and sizes from scrap fabric to decorate the skirt.

4. Pin the pieces of fabric to the skirt, making sure to overlap the pieces.

5. Sew around the pieces using the zigzag stitch.
