How to Make a Daisy Headband for Infants
Create a beautiful lace headband and embellish it with a large daisy flower for a flamboyant baby hair accessory. The daisy headband is made from the petals of two silk daisies and adorned with a gemstone or rhinestone center for a little extra flair. Make the headband for your own child or gift a new mother with a touch of your creativity by giving her the headband as a baby shower present.
Things You'll Need
- 1-inch-wide elastic lace
- Sewing needle
- Thread
- Silk daisies
- Fabric glue
- Imitation gemstone or rhinestone
Instructions

1
Measure around the infant's head to determine the circumference for the headband. Cut a piece of one-inch-wide elastic lace to this length and sew the short ends of the lace together.
-
2
Remove the centers of two silk daisies. The center has a short piece of stem attached and should pull out of the top of the flower.
-
-
3
Separate the layers of petals. You can use two daisies of the same color or make a unique daisy headband from two different-colored daisies.
-
4
Apply a small dot of glue to the underside of one center and slide one of the daisy petal sections onto the stem. Press the daisy firmly against the glue. Apply glue to the underside of the daisy petals and slide on another layer of petals. Repeat until you have added all of the petals from both flowers onto the one stem.
-
5
Trim off any excess stem protruding from beneath the layers of daisy petals. Apply a small dot of glue to the top center of the daisy and press an imitation gemstone or rhinestone against the glue.
-
6
Hold the double daisy against the headband and sew eight to 10 stitches through the bottom of the flower and into the headband to attach.

Tips & Warnings
Instead of adding just one medium-size double daisy to the lace headband, you can cover the top of the headband with a row of five or six smaller double daisies.
