How to Bend Spherical Sheet Plywood

Lay the sheet of plywood you will be bending down on a flat surface. Line up the blade of a circular saw along the top of the plywood. Adjust the blade on the circular saw to 2/3 of the thickness of the plywood you are cutting into.

Turn on the saw and make shallow cuts into the plywood across the entire piece. Run the blade of the saw from one side to the other. Move down 1/2 inch and repeat the same cut, making sure the blade does not go completely through the plywood. Continue in the same manner all the way down the sheet of plywood.

Pick up the piece of plywood carefully and stand it on its side. Grip both ends of the plywood and begin bending it to the desired shape by hand. Push down firmly on both sides and continue until the desired spherical shape is achieved.

Run a thin bead of wood glue into the cut lines you made. Start at one end and work to the other. Repeat the process for all of the slits you made in the plywood. This will help strengthen the plywood and make it retain its shape, as well as hold it together better since it has been cut.
