Apply a ¼-inch coat of drywall plaster over the surface of the walls with a trowel. Overlap each row of plaster by 50 percent to avoid horizontal or vertical lines in the plaster. Wait 15 minutes before you move on.

Roll over the surface of the drywall plaster with a lamb's wool roller. Use a light touch. Do not press hard to simply move the plaster around on the wall. A light touch will add texture. When the roller loads up with drywall plaster, replace it with a new roller. Allow at least 24 hours' drying time.
