How to Make a Mock Camisole
A full camisole can add bulk or length underneath cardigans or sweaters. The extra layer can also add to much warmth, especially if you work in an overly heated environment. A mock camisole can add the look of layers and a bit of extra coverage without having a complete additional layer of clothing. Make the mock camisole out of an existing camisole you already have or one that's too short to wear by itself.
Things You'll Need

1
Try on the jackets, cardigans and wrap tops that you want the camisole to work under. Choose a few that will look good with a mock cami cut the same way. Mark the camisole near either side seam at the length you will need it to be. Use the measuring tape to carefully mark the new hemline of the camisole.

2
Cut off the excess fabric, leaving 1/2 inch of fabric to create a new hem. Using the measuring tape, carefully fold the fabric up and pin it in place to create a new hem.

3
Sew the new hemline into the cami, using a straight stitch and coordinating thread.
-
4
Iron the camisole, neatly pressing the hem using an appropriate heat setting for the fabric.
