How to Have a Successful Christian Youth Fellowship
Although most have good intentions, there are some Christian youth fellowships that are more successful than others. Vibrant, or thriving, youth groups are committed to action. They express enthusiasm and positivity consistently, according to "Building Vibrant Youth Groups," published by Montana State University. Helping a youth fellowship succeed takes encouraging and motivating youth and offering fun opportunities regularly.

1
Help youth feel that they "own" the group. Successful youth fellowships allow children to have ownership in the group. Allow the youngsters to make decisions in terms of community projects, mission trips, Bible studies and fellowship opportunities, such as fun field trips. Although adults are responsible for overseeing the group, youth don't want adults to play too large of a role in the decision-making processes.

2
Keep the youth fellowship busy. Children today are active and busy, and they prefer for their activities to be engaging and interesting, according to the article, "10 Easy Steps to Guarantee a Successful Youth Ministry," published in 2009 by YouthWorker.com, an online magazine for youth workers. Avoid wide gaps between field trips, projects and simple get-togethers; instead, schedule ongoing events that range from Christian rock concerts to adventure expeditions to Bible studies.

3
Utilize technology and social media. Maintain effective communication strategies by taking advantage of Facebook, Twitter and other forms of social media. Post photos, if appropriate, and keep youth informed of upcoming church-related events.

4
Coordinate community service initiatives. Volunteering isn't seen as a requirement by youth; it's perceived as part of the group's necessary and fundamental experiences, according to Montana State University. Successful youth fellowships are active in the community and constantly take on initiatives to help the community in which they live.
