How to Make Chandelier Cleaner With Vinegar & Alcohol

Clean your chandelier annually to keep it sparkling.

Chandeliers accumulate a high amount of dust over the course of a year. Once summer is done and it is too cold for outdoor torches and candles, it's time to clean that chandelier and make it sparkle for the winter season. You can easily make a cleaning solution for your chandelier out of some basic household ingredients.

Things You'll Need

• Warm water
• Rubbing alcohol
• Automatic dishwasher spot remover
• Vinegar
• 2 spray bottles
• Sandwich bags
• Rubber bands
• Rags

Instructions

1. Combine 2 cups of warm water, 1/2 cup of rubbing alcohol and 2 tbsp. of automatic dishwasher spot remover in a spray bottle. This solution can be used to clean the chandelier's metal and glass cover pieces.

2. Combine 1 cup of warm water and 1 cup of vinegar in another spray bottle. Use this solution on the lightbulbs.

3. Clean the chandelier by covering the lightbulbs in sandwich bags and clamping them shut with a rubber band. Spray down the chandelier, scrubbing away any dust with a rag. Remove the baggies once the chandelier is wiped clean, and gently rub the vinegar solution onto the bulbs.
