Things You'll Need:

    Polish Finished Wood

  1. Step 1

    Mix 2 parts vegetable oil or olive oil and 1 part lemon juice in a medium-sized bowl.

  2. Step 2

    Dip a clean, dry, lint-free cloth into the mixture and rub into the wood. Always rub wood in the direction of the grain.

  3. Step 3

    Use a soft-bristled toothbrush to get into tight places or to get at scrollwork or other intricate design work.

  4. Step 4

    Rub with a new, clean cloth until wood shines.

  5. Polish Unfinished Wood

  6. Step 1

    Dissolve 1 tsp. lemon oil into 1 cup mineral oil.

  7. Step 2

    Apply a small amount of the mixture onto a soft, clean, dry, lint-free cloth.

  8. Step 3

    Rub mixture into wood until all residue has soaked in. Always rub in the direction of the grain of the wood.

  9. Step 4

    Buff with a clean, dry cloth to make furniture shine.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you don't like the smell of lemon, you don't add have to add it to the mineral oil.
  • Never substitute mineral spirits for mineral oil.
  • Mineral oil is flammable! Keep away from open flame.
  • Keep the area you are working in well ventilated.
