Instructions

    • 1

Select a location for the transmitter. Make sure that it is free of obstructions such as bushes, trees, metal or any other materials that could interfere with the operation of the transmitter.

    • 2

Hold the post-hole digger in an upright position and shove straight down into the soil. Pry the handles apart and lift straight up. Bring up the soil between the scoops and deposit it next to the hole. Continue digging until you have a hole approximately 24 inches deep.

    • 3

Place the post in the hole and begin filling in the soil. Pack the soil firmly in with the tamper. Stop periodically and make sure it is straight and level by placing the spirit level on the side of the post. Adjust the post and continue filling and tamping until the hole is filled. Saw off the top of the post to a height recommended for your transmitter.

    • 4

Mount the transmitter securely onto the post using the drill and screws. Make sure it is not aimed in the direction of street traffic.

    • 5

Code the transmitter. Consult your systems manual to locate the switches that will allow you to choose the type of sound you want to receive as a signal. Reset the transmitter to accommodate the new settings.

    • 6

Designate a convenient area of the house for the receiver, and plug it in an outlet. Ask a helper to assist you in testing the sensitivity level. Have your assistant monitor the alarm while you make adjustments in the sensitivity at the transmitter.

    • 7

Adjust the sensitivity level until gates, garage doors and street traffic do not trigger an alarm.

Tips & Warnings

  • For best reception, place the receiver near a door or window facing the transmitter.

  • Do not use a metal post, which can interfere with the transmission of a signal.
