How to Make an Origami Luigi Cap
Origami is an art involving folding paper into shapes and objects. You can fold different types of hats with origami techniques, including a cap the Super Mario Bros. character Luigi wears. Luigi's cap appears similar to an army cap. Convert a few folding steps to making an origami army cap and it will appear like Luigi's cap. Use green origami paper to fold the cap to resemble the one Luigi wears. To make one large enough for a young child to wear, use newspaper of the same proportions as origami paper and paint the surface green.

1
Fold the origami paper in half and cut down the crease with scissors. Only one side of the paper will be needed.
-
2
Fold the paper in half lengthwise. Unfold the paper.
-
-
3
Place the top edge down to the bottom edge to fold the paper in half.
-
4
Fold the top left and right corners down to the vertical crease line. Two triangles will form.
-
5
Place the first layer of the bottom edge below the base of the triangles. Fold at the edge of the triangles' base.
-
6
Turn the paper to the other side and fold the side edges to the center vertical crease line.
-
7
Fold the sharp tip at the top down, forming a crease above the triangles' top angle, and tuck the tip underneath the triangle flaps.
-
8
Fold the bottom edge up to form the beak of the cap. Fold it up one more time so that it is perpendicular to the head of the cap. The bottom edge is to be held down by the front frame of the cap.
-
9
Bend the left and right corner tips of the cap's beak to form a small triangle on each side and push in on the corner tip to tuck it in between the layers of the beak. The beak of the cap will be rounded.
-
10
Slip your finger underneath the cap to spread it open. Draw a large circle with the letter "L" in it at the front-center of the cap to complete the origami Luigi cap.
