Creases that occur in boots such as those made from patent or a synthetic leather are common when they are new. The bending movement of the material as you walk will stress the leather which causes the creases to show. You can easily remove small creases by using techniques to massage and then condition your boots.

Plug an iron into an electrical outlet and set it to “Low.” Place a damp cloth over a leather boot.

Run the iron over the damp cloth to heat the boot. Repeat this step until you have ironed out the crease in the boot.

Apply leather oil to the surface of the boot with a clean cloth or rag.

Insert the cedar shoe trees into the boots. Adjust the size of the shoe trees so that they fit snug inside of each boot. This will stretch and hold the shape of the boot.

Repeat this process with the other leather boot.

Things You'll Need:

  • Cedar shoe trees
  • Iron
  • Damp cloth
  • Clean cloth
  • Leather oil
  • Rag

Tip

Cedar shoe trees will help to absorb moisture that typically would be absorbed into the boot.

Apply a liquid shoe stretching solution to the surface of the boot with a clean cloth.
