How to Improve HVAC Airflow
Your heating, ventilating and air conditioning, or HVAC, system has a very important job to do. When the weather gets cold, the HVAC system in your home delivers warmth to all of the rooms that it's connected to. Then, when it gets hot and humid, the system delivers cool air to keep your family comfortable during the summer heat. The better the airflow of your HVAC system, the more efficiently it will operate, which can actually help save you money over time. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Change the filter on your HVAC system as often as the manufacturer recommends, which is typically every few months when the system is in use.
-
2
Clean any vents and air ducts that you have access to using a vacuum cleaner. Dust particles can inhibit airflow.
-
-
3
Wipe off the coils for the HVAC system. When the coils are covered in debris, the system will not work efficiently.
-
4
Schedule professional maintenance for the HVAC system at least once a year. Certain maintenance procedures exist that only a professional can deal with, such as refrigerant levels for an air conditioning system or cleaning all the ductwork.
-
5
Have a programmable thermostat installed. With a programmable thermostat, you will have better control over the temperature and airflow for the system.
