How to List Freelance Modeling on a Resume

While some models find a manager or agency to represent them and locate work, most new models start out as freelancers, and others choose to remain that way even as they gain experience, according to Model Headquarters. Because freelance models are doing independent jobs, their resume is constantly evolving along with their careers and should be kept updated to reflect all the freelance modeling work they have done.

Instructions

    • 1

Write an "Experience" heading on your resume. This section should follow your personal statistics section. If you have had special training through organizations such as casting agencies, you may have a "Training" section above your "Experience" section.

    • 2

Write your most recent freelance modeling assignment, beginning with the type of job, such as "runway show" or "photography class model."

    • 3

Write the name of the school, company or organization that signed your paycheck or, if the work was unpaid, organized the event, followed by the city and state the assignment took place. For example, "Steward Fine Arts School, Tacoma, WA."

    • 4

Write the date, including the month and year, of the assignment. For example, "December 2008."

    • 5

List the rest of your freelance modeling jobs in reverse chronological order using this format.

Tips & Warnings

  • Acting USA warns that lying about your experience or listing experience that is unrelated to modeling may ruin your chances at finding work in the future.
