From a vacation to far-off countries to a dream to join NASA and fly off to Mars, and everything in between like going to Mecca or the Himalayas -- all of these would successfully convey your message to the guy. Add at the end something like "I prefer some peace on the journey. So, I'll obviously be going alone," to make sure he gets the message.

Inform that it's their ritual to follow you and your date on your outings to know what you both are up to. Add that your parents are strict vegetarians and everyone in the family is supposed to be so.
