How to Instant Flag on Craigslist

You can inform Craigslist moderators about problematic posts.

When you go on Craigslist to look for information, such as to find a new place to live, meet a new friend or get a new job, you might see a posting that doesn't seem like it should belong, prompting you to want to instantly flag it for review. Craigslist has a flagging system, which enables all users to flag a posting. For example, you can flag a miscategorized post, or a post that offers something prohibited --- such as someone selling an illegal item --- as per the Craigslist "Terms of Use." You can also flag a particularly clever or interesting posting for consideration to be included in the "Best of Craigslist" category.

Instructions

1. Launch your Web browser.

2. Navigate to the Craigslist website (craigslist.org).

3. Browse or search for a posting, such as a help wanted ad or an item listed for sale.

4. Click the name of a posting to open it. A list of flag categories appears at the top.

5. Click the link for a flag, such as "Miscategorized," "Prohibited" or "Best of Craigslist" to instantly send a flag about the posting to the Craigslist moderators, who will evaluate the merits of the flag.
