How to: Vinyl Lattice Fences
Vinyl fences provide a low upkeep solution for homeowners who do not want to constantly paint and repair wood fencing. Vinyl comes in unlimited colors and in designs such as lattice. Lattice is excellent for decorative fencing and can also double as a plant trellis. For those desiring more privacy, there are vinyl fences available with privacy panels and a lattice top. Things You'll Need
- Tape measure
- Chalk marker
- Post digger
- Concrete
- Wheelbarrow
- Shovel
- Level
- Screwdriver

Measure your yard and determine the length of fence pieces and posts you'll need. Take the measurements to your local hardware store for ordering the fence pieces.

Determine the necessary distance between posts according to the fence manufacturer's instructions.

Mark out the post locations with a chalk marker.

Dig out the holes for the posts with a post digger. You'll want the post holes to be at least 1 foot deep, but check your manufacturer's guidelines for specific instructions.

Mix the concrete in the wheelbarrow with the shovel and add 2 inches of concrete to the bottom of the hole.

Place the post into the hole and position it so that it is level. Backfill the hole the rest of the way with concrete. Repeat with each post.

Leave the posts to set and dry for 24 hours before installing the fencing.

Install the lattice panels onto the posts by sliding them into position and using the included installation screws to hold the panels in place.
