Feng Shui is a Chinese tradition that is thousands of years old. The concept centers around the organization and decoration of a home or office to maximize the positive energy flowing through it while minimizing negative energy. Crystals are often used in Feng Shui configurations with crystal balls being particularly common. Crystal balls do not need much maintenance, but they require regular cleaning to keep them looking their best and to prevent smudging. Wipe away any dust or smudges on the crystal ball with a microfiber cloth. Feng Shui focuses a lot on light dispersion, and smudges or dust will negatively affect how the ball refracts sunlight. Microfiber is soft and will not scratch the ball's surface.

Rinse the crystal ball in warm water and a mild detergent to clean it of any heavier dirt or grease. Avoid using harsher solvents since they can discolor the crystal and otherwise tarnish its appearance, making it less useful for Feng Shui. Dry the ball thoroughly with the microfiber towel once you're finished.

Spray the crystal ball with a mixture of half warm water and half white vinegar to get any stubborn fingerprints or stains off the crystal. White vinegar is a natural cleaner, degreaser and disinfectant. The water dilutes it to ensure the crystal is not negatively affected.

Soak the crystal ball in salt water for seven days and nights if you're worried about recharging it. Dry the crystal by placing it in the sun for seven hours. Feng Shui practitioners recommend this to recharge positive energy into the crystal ball, but there is no empirical evidence that it affects how the crystal performs.
