1
Allow 30 minutes for the automatic defrost cycle to end if it seems like the refrigerator is not working. After 30 minutes, make sure the refrigerator is plugged in, the temperature controls are turned on past "0" and replace or reset the fuse or circuit breaker if needed.
-
2
Wipe the door seal with a damp cloth and look inside to make sure there are no items that prevent the door from shutting if the motor is operating a long time, the temperature seems inaccurate or items feel too warm. Opening the door often also can create these problems, as can very warm or humid ambient temperatures. Turn the temperature control to a lower setting and wait 24 hours.

3
Set the power switch to "On" if there is no ice in the bin. The maker takes up to 24 hours to make a first batch but discard the first 3 batches of ice, as the new water line system is flushing out during this time. If the ice bin is full and the green light on the unit is blinking, remove some of the ice cubes from the bin.
-
4
Clean out the ice bin and replace the water filter if ice or water has a poor taste or scent, or ice cubes are hollow or small in size. Cover, wrap or seal food items to stop individual odors from transferring into the compartment. Clean the inside of the appliance with baking soda and water if the entire refrigerator smells bad, and place an open box of baking soda in the refrigerator to help combat odors.
-
5
Push the "Lock Control" pad for 3 seconds and release if the water or ice cube dispenser is not working as expected.
-
6
Break up ice clumps in the ice bin if ice gets stuck in the dispenser and use a wooden utensil to help remove ice from the chute. Try to use the ice dispenser on a regular basis to help prevent ice from sealing together and making large clumps that cause obstruction.
-
7
Dispense water into a container for 3 minutes if the water supply seems warm, is spurting or has air in it after a new filter is installed or the refrigerator is newly installed, as this helps flush out the water line.
-
8
Make a new weight selection if the thaw tray is not thawing as expected. Set the items on the tray and allow space on all sides for increased air flow.
-
9
Disconnect power to the refrigerator and replace the light bulb with a new, 40 watt appliance bulb if the current light bulb is not working or is burnt out.
-
10
Move the door bin up one slot if the door cannot close. Use a small amount of paraffin wax on the door gasket if it is sticking or folded over and does not straighten out.
