How to Install ProChatrooms and vBulletin
You can easily build a website using a CMS, or Content Management System. A CMS is essentially a website that users can customize to their heart's content, often with the click of a button. Many software vendors specialize in creating software that works in conjunction with CMS websites. Pro Chat Rooms provides chat room software aimed at CMS websites and includes installation in its purchase price. VBulletin provides bulletin board software that users must manually install. Both systems, especially vBulletin, sometimes work on a non-CMS website.

1
Verify, if applicable, that Pro Chat Rooms will work with your CMS. Contact Pro Chat Rooms before purchasing if you're not certain whether the company supports your CMS. If your website does not rely on a CMS system, you must contact Pro Chat Rooms to discuss a custom installation and the associated fee.
-
2
Buy Pro Chat Rooms and provide your contact information so that Pro Chat Rooms can contact you.

-
4
Provide, if you're using an existing content system, the representative with the name of the system and login details so that Pro Chat Rooms can test the installation.
-
5
Wait for up to two business days for Pro Chat Rooms to complete the installation.
vBulletin
-
6
Download the installation package you obtained upon your purchase of the vBulleting software.
-
7
Unzip the vBulletin download. Open the vBulletin "upload" folder and open the "includes" folder it contains. Right click on the file named "config.php.new," select "Rename" from the menu that appears. Change the name of the file to "config.php."
-
8
Open the "config.php" file in a text editor, such as NotePad. The "config.php" file is located in the "includes" folder. Using the current list of vBulletin's modifications (it is updated from time to time), make edits suggested by substituting the name of your database wherever you see the word "dbname." Replace the word "technicalemail" with the email address of your webmaster or technical team. Replace the words "servername," "username" and "password" with the address of your database server, your username's host, your webserver's password, respectively. Save the altered "config.php" file.
-
9
Upload the file named "upload" to your host, using the process you ordinarily use when uploading files. No special procedure is necessary. Rename the uploaded file and give it the name you intend to use for your bulletin board.
-
10
Open your web browser and enter the name of the HTTP address of the forum directory you created; for example, if you're installing vBulletin to a website named "MyWidgets.com" and you named the vBulletin folder "myBulletin," write "http://www.MyWidgets.com/myBulletin." Finally, add the string "/install/install.php" to the end of the internet address, so that the entire address reads: "http://www.MyWidgets.com/myBulletin/install/install.php." (Do not include a period at the end of the address.)
-
11
Wait until a login prompt appears on your screen. Enter in the information vBulletin provided upon purchase, and click on the button that reads "Begin Install." Wait while vBulletin completes the automatic installation.
