How to Get a Bumper Sticker Off of a Laptop
Bumper stickers allow you to personalize your laptop, but the strong adhesive isn't easily removable once it's time to remove the sticker. Bumper stickers have a pressure sensitive adhesive that leaves a gummy residue behind even after you pull off the majority of the sticker. This residue attracts dust and grime to the laptop casing. You can remove the bumper sticker without damaging the electrical components in the computer and without scratching the plastic case.

1
Turn off the laptop and unplug. Close the case so no cleaning solutions get in the keyboard or on the screen as you work.

Soak a cotton ball in rubbing alcohol. Rubbing the remaining bumper sticker adhesive with the rubbing alcohol. Avoid applying too much alcohol as you don't want it to run down the case and into the outer plugs or electrical components. Allow it to soak into the adhesive for two or three minutes.

4
Scrub the adhesive with nylon netting or a mildly abrasive cloth until all the remaining adhesive is removed. Repeat the alcohol treatment and scrubbing as necessary to remove any stubborn spots.
-
5
Wipe the case with a water dampened clean cloth to remove any alcohol residue. Dry with a second cloth.
