How to Have Rapport With a Girl
Positive communication within a relationship requires work, whether the intended result is a romantic or platonic connection. New meetings present the initial challenge of establishing rapport. Rapport is a feeling of being on the same "wavelength" during a conversation; this level of comfort fosters open sharing of thoughts and ideas. Utilize active listening and body language to build rapport with a girl.

1
Mirror her body language. A subtle imitation of her body language subconsciously creates a sense of reciprocity. For example, if she rests her head on her hand, initiate a related movement, such as supporting your chin with your palm.
-
2
Listen. Absorb the information she conveys -- this is one of the most fundamental, and often overlooked, ways to develop rapport. Avoid the impulse to think about your next statement and simply remain present in the moment.

3
Acknowledge her statements. For example, if she expresses fond memories of a city she visited, encourage her to elaborate. Make a comment that conveys empathy and ask a relevant question, such as "It sounds like you were really affected by that place. Why do you think that was?" to demonstrate interest and make her feel relaxed.
-
4
Discuss common interests as they emerge. Emphasize similarities in likes, dislikes and personality to further build the rapport between you.
-
5
Ask questions about her accomplishments. Draw on her earlier statements for clues to the things that hold the most importance to her; this demonstrates genuine interest and appreciation for her, and a willingness to share the limelight.
