How to Close a Case on PayPal

PayPal's Disputes system allows users to open "cases" in which particular PayPal transactions are marked as being in dispute. A dispute is automatically closed in 20 days, unless it is elevated to a claim and brought to the attention of PayPal officials. You can close a case before the 20-day period has elapsed, but you will never be able to reopen it, so be sure that the dispute has actually been resolved to your satisfaction.

Instructions

    • 1

Log into your PayPal account at paypal.com.

    • 2

Point to "Resolution Center," and click "View Open Cases."

    • 3

Click the Case ID of the case you want to close, then click "Close Dispute."

    • 4

Enter any comments you want to add, then click "Close Dispute" again to close the case forever.
