How to Make a Flannel Shirt Into a Skirt
Flannel shirts have long been used as a toasty way to beat back the chill of winter. Now, you can use a long-sleeve flannel shirt to make a one-of-a-kind, no-sew, plaid skirt. Because there is no cutting, sewing or altering, once you're done wearing the skirt, the shirt can resume its intended purpose of keeping out the cold.
Instructions

-
1
Open up the buttons of the shirt.
-
2
Wrap the shirt around your waist so the back of the shirt drapes over the back of your body and the open, button-down side runs up your front. The collar of the shirt should hit on your back where you want the waistband of the skirt to fall.
-
-
3
Button up the shirt, beginning from the bottom, until you reach a button where the shirt feels secure on your hips.
-
4
Pull the sleeves taught around your midsection and tie them into a loose bow or knot to secure in the front.
-
5
Tuck in the collar so the waistband of the skirt lies flat.

Tips & Warnings
Choose the sizing of the shirt based on length desired in the final skirt. The larger the shirt, the longer the skirt.
Avoid using a women's cut shirt for this skirt, the shape and darting will create an undesirable silhouette in the finished product.
