How to Make a cPanel Account

The cPanel utility lets you maintain websites on a Web server. Some Web hosting companies offer cPanel as part of virtual hosting packages. You can access the software using your Web browser, and it is compatible with most operating systems. You must set up a new account for each domain you want to host on a cPanel server; cPanel provides a form that lets you create the new domain and associate users who can log in and manage the domain.

Instructions

    • 1

Open a Web browser and log in to your cPanel account using administrator credentials. Click "Create New Account" to open the new account form.

    • 2

Type your domain name in the "Domain" text box. Do not include the "www" in the domain name -- enter only the domain name and the extension, such as ".com" or ".net."

    • 3

Type a user account name that manages the domain in the "User Account" text box. Type the password for the user account in the "Password" and "Verify Password" text boxes.

    • 4

Type the email address for the user account. This is the email account that receives server maintenance notices. Click "Create" to set up the domain.
