How to Make a Twirl in Illustrator
Adobe's Illustrator vector graphics software allows you to create and edit images built from lines, points, curves and polygons rather than from the pixels that comprise a bitmap image like a BMP or JPG. Illustrator's Twirl tool distorts an image -- or an object in the image -- by swirling it into a set of curves.
