2
Drill a 1/8-inch hole into the curtain rod every 1 inch. Twist an eye hook into each of the drilled holes. Hang the curtain rod in the doorway with the eye hooks pointing down.

3
Measure the height of the doorway from the ground to where you hung the curtain rod. Add 2 inches to this measurement. Cut one piece of string or fishing line to match the measurement for each set of holes you drilled in Step 2.

Tie one end of each string with a double knot. Feed the other end of the string through the beads to create the pattern of your choice. Use beads with a 1/8-inch opening. Feed them onto the string, leaving the last 2-1/2 inches without beads. Repeat this procedure with each piece of string or fishing line.

Tips & Warnings
If you want the beads spaced apart from one another, tie a knot in the string below each bead.
Use one color of bead or multiple colors and sizes. When using different beads, feed them on in a predetermined pattern, or opt for a more abstract look and use a random placement.
Change out the beaded strands to match your decor or the current holiday.
If you choose to use beads with an a larger opening and want to space the beads, apply hot glue to the inside of the bead once it is threaded on the string. Let the glue dry before proceeding to the next bead.
