Things You'll Need

  • 20-gauge sterling silver wire
  • Drinking glass
  • Wire cutters for jewelry
  • Needlenose pliers for jewelry
  • Beads

Instructions

    • 1

      Wrap a segment of the wire once around the cylindrical part of the drinking glass to form the base for the hoop. Overlap with the beginning of the wire about 1/2-inch.

      Cut the wire using the jewelry wire cutters.

      Repeat steps 1 and 2 to create the second hoop.

      Grasp one end of one of the wire hoops with the needlenose pliers. Bend the wire slightly create a small loop perpendicular from the hoop. Leave the loop open slightly. Repeat with the second hoop.

      String beads in the desired pattern onto each hoop.

      Grasp the straight end of the one of the hoops with the needlenose pliers about 1/4-inch from the end. Slightly bend the wire up toward the outside of the hoop to a 45° angle. Repeat with the second hoop.

      Clasp the earrings by inserting the bent end of the hoop into the hook end.

Tips & Warnings

  • Be sure to use beads with holes large enough to fit on the 20 gauge wire.
