How to Do a Good Product Review
Product reviews can be extremely helpful to other customers, provided you give other customers the kind of information they need to make an informed decision on the product in question. It should be said there is also a certain amount of responsibility that comes with writing a product review. If you choose to recommend a product, for instance, then people may very well buy that product on your recommendation, and so your product review should accurately reflect the product in question.

1
Use the product in question for a period of time before you write a review on it. If the product in question is consumable media, such as a book, CD or a movie, then you should consume the media before writing a review.
-
2
Be honest in your assessment of the product. If you have a certain amount of loyalty to the product's brand, for instance, you should try and take that bias out of the equation when you are assessing the product.
-
-
3
List both pros and cons that you have noticed while using the product. Some websites that allow customers to write reviews have specific spaces to input both pros and cons.
-
4
List any information that is relevant to the review. If you are reviewing camping equipment, for instance, then the weather conditions under which you used the equipment should be included in the review.
-
5
Compare the product in question to similar products you might have used. Comparing a book you are reviewing to another, similar book will give customers information about the product they can relate to.
-
6
Relate any problems that you have with the product. Malfunctions, missing components and lackluster performance are all things that review readers are looking to inform themselves about.
-
7
Write a summary of your review. Helpful things to include in your summary are whether or not you would recommend the product and whether you plan to keep the product. If the review does not offer a space to input a numerical rating, then it would also be helpful to include what score you might give the product, out of a top score of either five or ten.
