Instructions

    • 1

Fold the origami paper in half, horizontally. Crease and unfold.

    • 2

Fold the top 1/4 of the paper parallel to the center crease down to touch the center crease. Fold the bottom 1/4 of the paper, also parallel to the crease, up to touch the center crease on the opposite side.

    • 3

Fold the paper in half width wise. Crease and unfold. Fold in the left and right side of the paper to touch this center crease.

    • 4

Fold the top and bottom sides of the paper over on itself one more time to touch the center crease. Unfold.

    • 5

Turn the paper so that the center slit is vertical rather than horizontal. Fold all of the corners down at a 45-degree angle to touch the closest creases to these corners. Crease and unfold.

    • 6

Open these corners and invert along the diagonal crease made, so the paper is pressed inside the folded paper.

    • 7

Pull open the top and bottom sides and squish flat.

    • 8

Grab the two flaps in the center of the paper and lift up to a 90-degree angle. You should end up with something that resembles a shallow box with two long, upright flaps. Turn the box over and set it on the table. The origami desk is complete.
