Using chopsticks might seem daunting at first but it is relatively simple.

Chopsticks are typically wooden and used by those of Japanese descent as eating utensils. Even the smallest of food, such as rice, is eaten with chopsticks, and even though they are typically made of wood it is not uncommon to see plastic or even glass chopsticks at a restaurant or someone's home. Using glass chopsticks is no different than those made of wood. Does this Spark an idea?

      Place one glass chopstick in your hand as you would hold a pen or pencil. The thinnest end of the chopstick should be nearest your fingertips. Place your hand at a position where it is faced inward and the stick is horizontal to your plate.

      Loosen your fingers so that they remain in the position similar to holding a writing utensil, but not as rigid, and let the chopstick fall backward until it is resting in the crook between your thumb and forefinger and you are controlling it with the tips of your middle and ring finger. Keep your thumb straight but not rigid, and clamp the stick with your thumb and forefinger at its middle point.

      Slide the second glass chopstick into your hand so that it rests in the curve of your pointer finger and the tip of your ring finger. Touch the tip of your middle finger to the chopstick and underneath your thumb so that it rests on the tip of your pointer finger.

      Extend and bend your middle and pointer fingers to move the chopsticks into the open and closed positions. Do this gently to pick up and eat your food. You must alternate which finger you bend and extend to open and close your chopsticks. Very little strength is needed to make your chopsticks move the way you want them to.
