How to Arrange the WordPress Dashboard

The default WordPress dashboard includes content widgets such as "Quick Press," "WordPress News" and "Right Now," which display the number of posts, pages and comments. If you are dissatisfied with the default dashboard, you can choose which items to display and then rearrange them however you want. You can also choose whether the dashboard uses a single- or multi-column display.

Instructions

    • 1

Sign in to your dashboard at yoursitename.com/wp-admin.

    • 2

Click on "Screen Options" in the upper-right corner.

    • 3

Select the items you want to appear on the dashboard by clicking on them to add a check. Remove items by clicking on them to remove the check mark.

    • 4

Select the number of columns in the WordPress dashboard. You can select one column or two. Click on "Screen Options" again to close the panel.

    • 5

Click on the gray bar on top of each item you want to rearrange. Hold your mouse button down and drag the dashboard item to the desired location.

    • 6

Repeat the process until the dashboard is arranged to your preference. The changes will automatically save and will stay active the next time you log in.
