One of the main ways Niko can accept missions from rival gang leaders, advance the plot, or even get a date is by using his cell phone. Knowing how to make calls on the cell phone in "Grand Theft Auto IV" is essential for success in the game.

Instructions

1. Press the "Up" directional button on your PS3's controller. A small cell phone should appear in the right-hand corner of the screen.

2. Press the "X" button to open the programmed numbers list. Anyone you have met in the game should be added to your contacts, and you can call them by selecting their name with the directional buttons and pressing "X" when their name is highlighted.

3. Press "Up" again to enter a phone number yourself. If you want to call a number that is not programmed (like a "cheat" number or the police), you can select the numbers you want to dial with the directional buttons, press "X" to enter, and then press "X" again to make the call.
