How to Plan a Lingerie Wardrobe on a Budget
Just about every stylish woman is as concerned about her lingerie wardrobe as she is about her seasonal wardrobe. Even if you're not in a relationship or planning to show anyone your lingerie, wearing sexy lingerie on boosts your confidence and mood. But buying a full new lingerie wardrobe can be costly. A more economical solution is to plan out your new lingerie purchases.

Inspect your lingerie wardrobe. Make two piles: the items you can wear, and worn out items. Write down what you have. Make a list of the items you want to buy to complete your lingerie wardrobe. Keep it realistic. Start with a few simple bras, matching panties and a few extra sexy items like pasties and corsets. Then add how many slips, night gowns, robes, shape wear and hosiery you want. Write down your budget for each item. This way you'll know exactly what to buy and how much updating your entire lingerie will cost.

When you enter a large department store or a lingerie store, go directly to the sale and clearance items. Take out your list and and only buy what is on it. Don't splurge on unnecessary items so that you can stick as close as you can to your budget.

Look in budget stores like K-Mart, Wal-mart and Target as opposed to only brand-name stores like Nordstom and Victoria's Secret. Bras, panties and nightwear are available for at affordable prices that are just as good quality as those found in brand stores.

Buy only well-made items that will last a long time. Cheap, poor quality bras and panties wear out quickly, making your wardrobe incomplete once again. When you find a bra, first feel the fabric. It should be soft and easy on the skin. Feel for any lumps in the bra. It should be perfectly shaped and smooth. Pull on the straps to check on the elasticity. If you see the straps being strained from a little tug, you should move on. Try on a bra and only buy it if it is a perfect fit.

Mix and match. Not every bra has to have its own matching panty. Contrast your bras and panties. If you have a bra with a print, wear it with a panty that has a color from the bra. You could also wear the same panty with another bra. This will save you money.
