How to Make a Parachute for Children
When your children enjoy playing with army figures, you can support this interest in military play by giving them a toy accessory that they can use with their army figures, such as a small parachute. Instead of buying a toy parachute from a toy store, which can often be too large for an army figure, make your own parachute using a few basic materials that can be purchased from an arts and crafts supply store.

Lay out a sheet of nylon fabric on a flat surface, such as a table or counter top. Select any pattern or color of nylon fabric that you prefer.

2
Cut out a 4-inch wide hexagon from the nylon fabric.

Punch out a hole from each corner of the hexagon using a single-hole fabric punch press. Position each hole so that it is 1/4-inch from the edges.
-
4
Cut six 4-inch pieces of nylon string.

Tie a piece of nylon string onto each hole in the hexagon, then tie the loose ends to an army figure.
