How to Make a Mac Web Browser Into a Full Screen thumbnail
Full-screen Web browsing makes for easier and more enjoyable surfing and work.

A full-screen Web browsing experience with the Mac OS X Safari Web browser can be great for reading and viewing videos. If you're performing research, it helps reduce overall distractions on the screen and can help you focus. The downside of Safari is that, unless you have the latest version of OS X, you can't natively make the Web browser full screen since it isn't a built-in feature. You can, however, download a third-party extension that enables you to go full screen regardless of what version of Mac OS X you're using.

Instructions

    • 1

Download the Saft Safari extension by visiting the program's download page linked in the Resources section at the bottom of this article.

    • 2

Install the extension by double-clicking the file and restarting Safari if you already have an instance of it open on your desktop.

    • 3

Open Safari and click on "Saft" in the menu bar. Select "Advanced" and enable full-screen browsing.

    • 4

Set the keyboard shortcut that you wish to use in the field then exit the Saft extension window by clicking the red button in the upper left-hand of the window.
