How to Get Unicorns on "Howrse"
"Howrse" is a browser-based game that allows you to purchase your own virtual horses with virtual currency, breed them and create a horse farm. Unicorns are a special rare species of horse in the game. You can only get a unicorn at first by purchasing it from another player. When you have a male and female unicorn of the same breed, you can mate the unicorns together at two specific minutes of the day, in order to have a chance to breed a unicorn foal.

Purchase Unicorns

Log into the "Howrse" website.

Click "Breeding" from the menu, then click "Sales." This will take you to the auction and direct sales page where you can purchase horses from other users with virtual currency.

Select "Unicorn" from the "Species" drop-down menu, then click "Search." You will see a list of unicorns for sale, the unicorns' breed information and prices.

Click the magnifying glass icon next to the unicorn you wish to purchase, then click "Buy" to buy from a direct sale, or place a bid to bid in an auction. If you want to breed your own unicorns, you must purchase a male and female unicorn of the same breed.

Navigate to the page of your male unicorn and click "Covering."

Select a "Private" covering.

Type in your username and the name of the female unicorn, then click "Confirm."

Go to the page of the female unicorn and click the "Private Coverings" icon. You will see the name of your male unicorn.

Click the green checkmark next to the male unicorn's name. This will take you to a page that displays the genetics of each parent.

Wait until the "Game Time" in the upper-right corner of the page reads exactly "06:23" or "18:23" and click the "Cover my mare" button. You must click the button within the exact minute to have a chance at breeding a unicorn foal.

Progress your female unicorn through pregnancy as normal. When you birth the foal, you will have a one-in-five chance that the foal will be a unicorn.
