How to Sanitize a Toothbrush Holder

Clean and sanitize your toothbrush holder regularly.

The toothbrush holder that sits on top of your bathroom vanity could very well be one of those things you never think of cleaning. But old toothpaste and other everyday gunk can easily accumulate and become the perfect home for harmful bacteria. Keep your toothbrush holder -- and toothbrushes -- healthy by cleaning and sanitizing your toothbrush holder regularly.

Things You'll Need

• Pipe cleaner or cotton swab
• Bleach

Instructions

1. Rinse the toothbrush holder with hot tap water to get rid of any residual toothpaste.

2. Scrub around the edges of the holder and inside the holes that a hold the toothbrushes. Use a pipe cleaner or cotton swab to get into hard-to-reach areas.

3. Soak the toothbrush holder in a solution of one part bleach and three parts water for 3 minutes.

4. Rinse with clean water.

5. Allow to air dry.
