Make sure you use the proper screws before putting weight on your ballet bar.

If you want to practice ballet in your home and wish to install a ballet bar, you must know how to secure it correctly. This is especially true when dealing with walls made of concrete block or other masonry surfaces, due to how hard it is to penetrate them. Instructions

    • 1

Have an assistant hold the ballet bar, with mounting brackets attached, against the wall where you want to install it. Place the level on the bar, and move the bar until it is straight. While the assistant is still holding the bar against the wall, mark the holes of the mounting bracket with your pencil.

    • 2

Drill a hole in the wall at each of the marked spots, using the drill and the 3/16-inch masonry bit. Drill the hole about 2 inches deep.

    • 3

Hold the bar over the drilled holes, so they line up with the mounting brackets. Have the assistant hold the bar in place. Use 1/4-inch diameter concrete screws to secure the bar to the wall. Do not over-tighten the screws. Just make them flush with the holes.

Tips & Warnings

  • If the mounting brackets require a bigger screw-head, you can use washers to increase the size.
