How to Get Rid of Google Ads on My Cell Phone

Android app developers often give away their apps for free because Google allows them to place Google-provided ads in the apps. Both Google and the app developers make money from the ads when users tap them. However, Google does not make money from people uninterested in the ads because these people do not intentionally tap the ads. Thus, Google allows users to block the ads with a third-party app called Angry Ad Blocker.

Tips & Warnings

  • If your phone uses Android 2.6.32 or 2.6.35.10 you can use the free app NetSpector Sniffer/Ad Blocker. It also requires a rooted phone.

  • A few other ad blockers might work on particular devices without rooting, but they do not work on all Android devices.

  • To block Google ads, and other ads, in your phone's browser, you can use the Android Adblock app. It does not require a rooted phone, but it will not block ads in apps.
