Recreate Kim Possible's hair dryer grappling hook gun.

In the Disney animated series "Kim Possible," the title character is a teenage spy who fights crime with a variety of gadgets. One of these is a grappling hook gun that is disguised as a hair dryer. You can create a similar grappling hook gun to go along with a "Kim Possible" costume. It will not actually fire the hook, but it is a useful prop that you can play with in character.

Disassemble the hair dryer by removing the screws with a screwdriver. Remove the internal mechanism and reassemble the shell.

Paint a hair dryer with red spray paint. Let the paint dry, then brush silver paint onto the side air vents.

    • 3

Cut a 1/2-inch hole in the grill covering the front to the hair dryer with a rotary tool.

    • 4

Cut a 6-inch piece of wooden dowel with a saw, then round one end with an electric sander.

    • 5

Cut three L-shaped hooks from cardboard with a razor blade to serve as the hooks. (A template is available in the Resources section -- img.photobucket.com/albums/v513/chrismills/grapple.jpg -- or you can create your own design.)

    • 6

Glue the three hooks around the rounded end of the wooden dowel with hot glue to form the grappling hook.

    • 7

Paint the grappling hook gun-metal gray.

    • 8

Insert the grappling hook into the hole in the hair dryer's front end and glue it in place.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can make a stronger prop by gluing two pieces of cardboard together before cutting out the hooks.
