How to Lay Plank Linoleum Flooring Around a Toilet
Plank linoleum flooring consists of strips or pieces of linoleum that can be easily cut and fit together to cover an entire floor in your home. Because this type of flooring material is low maintenance and does well with moisture, plank linoleum flooring can be installed in your bathroom. Things You'll Need
- Broad knife
- Adhesive dissolver
- Scrub brush
- Bathroom cleaner
- Flexible tape measure
- Graphing paper
- Jigsaw

Remove the toilet if possible. By doing so, you can lay the flooring directly over the drain without having to account for the part of the toilet that is wider than the drain, causing you to have to cut pieces of flooring more than you need to.

Scrape away any adhesive left over from the old flooring around the toilet using a broad knife. An adhesive dissolver might also be needed.

Clean the surface thoroughly with a scrub brush and bathroom cleaner. Rinse with water and let dry.

Measure the space around the toilet carefully. Trace the measurements onto two pieces of graphing paper.

Cut out the shapes on the graphing paper and lay them around the toilet. Adjust as needed.

Trace the toilet cutout onto two linoleum flooring planks, using the graphic paper template.

Cut the planks using a jigsaw and put them against the toilet to be sure they'll fit.

Remove the paper backing from the linoleum flooring planks and set them carefully around the toilet. Smooth over to complete the installation.
