How to Export a Microsoft Outlook Calendar to XML or iCal
In the interest of keeping calendars synchronized, Microsoft Outlook has made it possible to export its calendars in many different formats. The iCAL (Macintosh iCalendar) format is a very popular format. Its file extension is .ICS and is recognized by many other software. The .XML (eXtensible Markup Language) file type is an encoded document format that is readable by many programs, as well. Outlook can export directly as an .ICS, but has to use secondary software to put it into .XML.
