How to Get Metang in Sapphire
Metang is a Steel and Psychic-type creature that uses magnetic forces to levitate its sturdy body in the Pokemon video games. Metang excels at physical defense in battle; however, it can also attack opponents with moves such as Metal Claw and Bullet Punch. In addition, Metang's elemental combination grants it partial resistance to Normal, Flying, Rock, Steel, Grass, Psychic, Ice and Dragon-type attacks, as well as immunity to Poison-type moves. You must evolve Beldum to obtain Metang in "Pokemon Sapphire."

Defeat the eight Hoenn Gym Leaders. You will find one in each major city in the Hoenn region.

Defeat the Elite Four and Pokemon League Champion at Ever Grande City in eastern Hoenn.

Fly to Mossdeep City. This island-based city is northwest of Ever Grande City.

Visit Steven's house in the northwest corner of the island.

Pick up the PokeBall on Steven's table. It contains a level 5 Beldum.

Exit the house and search for wild Pokemon and rival trainers to battle. Allow Beldum to participate in these battles until it earns enough experience points to reach level 20. It will evolve into Metang.

Tips & Warnings
Beldum can only learn the Take Down attack; after Beldum evolves into Metang, it will begin learning new attacks as it grows to new levels. Metang can also learn various moves from Technical Machines scattered throughout the game.
You can equip Beldum with the Exp. Share item during training. Exp. Share allows Beldum to share experience points your other Pokemon earn during battles.
