How to Get to the Northrend Cataclysm
In "World of Warcraft," Northrend is the continent added in the expansion pack Wrath of the Lich King where players can experience Level 70-80 content. With the arrival of the newest expansion pack, Cataclysm, that content is now largely obsolete, but you must go there to reach level 80. Getting to Northrend has not changed much with the latest expansion pack. If you are Alliance, make sure you don't have the quest Into the Depths if you are heading to Borean Tundra.

Take the boat from the northern-most dock in Stormwind if you wish to get to Borean Tundra. If you are Level 80, you may be on the quest chain which starts you off in the new Level 80-82 zone of Vashj'ir. If so, either drop this quest or complete it first because you won't be able to see the boat to Borean Tundra.

Arrive at Ironforge and take the flight path to Menethil Harbor in Wetlands. It is a short flight to the town on the coast of that zone. You will notice that the town is now flooded after the Cataclysm, but the boat to Howling Fjord still goes there from the northern dock as it did before.

Find a mage to make you a portal to Dalaran. If you are going to Northrend for reasons other than leveling, this is especially convenient because it takes you directly to the main city hub.
Horde Characters

Go to the main Horde capital city of Orgrimmar. Go to the main entrance and take the zeppelin tower to the right (if leaving the city.) Board the zeppelin and it will take you to the Northrend zone of Howling Fjord.

Go to the zeppelin tower outside Undercity, the Undead capital. You can take the zeppelin to Undercity from the zeppelin tower outside Orgrimmar. Take the zeppelin which docks at the other tower to Borean Tundra.
