How to Format Ebooks for Amazon
Digital technology has revolutionized the way in which people consume all types of media. For the latter group, the advent of ebooks has meant that they can deliver their product to the consumer with minimal distribution costs. If you're a small book publisher, or a self-publishing author, formatting your material to be sold on Amazon can be a quick and straightforward process.

Navigate to the Mobipocket website, scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the "Free software" link.

Click on the "Mobipocket Creator 4.2 Home Edition" link to download the software required to create your ebook.

Click on the "Download" button and follow the instructions to install the software.

Launch the program and click on "MS Word doc."

Click on "Browse" and navigate to the Word file containing your book's copy and then click on "Import."

Select a cover image and add a table of contents to your ebook if required by clicking on the links in the "View" box to the left of the window.

Click on the "Build" icon and select the required level of encryption before clicking on the "Build" button.

Click on the "Save" icon to save your ebook to your "My publications" folder.
