How to Hang a Quilt in My Office
Quilts are small squares of fabric sewn together to create a large blanket. Some quilts passed down through families have scraps of clothing used by family members in the past. Cultures such as the Amish create quilts as art. Amish quilts are used as blankets and as wall decorations. Hanging a fabric quilt up in your office displays art and helps create a homey, comfortable environment in an otherwise corporate setting. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Clear a space on your office wall to hang your quilt on. Clean any dirty spots on the wall to protect your quilt from stains.
-
2
Find the fabric loops on the top back of your quilt; these loops are created to hang your quilt from. Not all quilts already have loops.
-
-
3
Create your own hanging loops if your quilt has none by cutting four lengths of fabric ribbon 1 inch across and 3 inches long.
-
4
Fold each length of ribbon in half. Pin the open ends of the ribbon to the top-right corner of the back of the quilt. Repeat this on the top-left corner and place the last two loops spaced evenly between them.
-
5
Slide a window curtain rod or decorative drapery rod through the loops; check the loops to ensure they are sewn on securely and can support the quilt's weight.
-
6
Mount the rod on your office wall using the rod's included mounting equipment; purchase additional mounting equipment at a hardware store, if needed.
