How to Locate an Old Status by Date on Facebook

Facebook status updates can be a way of looking into history. Past updates can give you insight into your and your friends' mood, feelings and thoughts at a given time. Status updates not only are part of personal Facebook pages, but individuals and companies using group or fan pages also post status updates as a way of engaging followers. The way to locate an old status differs slightly depending on the type of page you are looking at.

Instructions

    • 1

Navigate to a personal, group or Fan Page on Facebook. If looking for an update within your news feed, click the "Home" button at the top left corner of your profile page.

    • 2

Click "Wall" directly below the profile image on a group or Fan page if you do not automatically land on its wall.

Click "Most Recent" at the top of your News Feed if looking for an update on the feed.

    • 3

Click the downward-pointing arrow icon at the top of the wall if on a group page or fan page. Click "Most Recent." Facebook will sort all the updates posted to the Wall in chronological order, starting with the most recent. On personal pages, updates appear in chronological order by default.

Scroll through the updates until you see the date or date range for which you want to find an update. The date an update was posted appears between the update and the comments for that update.
