How to Increase Gain on a MacBook
All Apple MacBook computers feature audio inputs and outputs. MacBooks use internal microphones and speakers for the input and output, respectively. However, you can connect external sound sources to the computer, such as external microphones and speakers. Each sound device has a separate volume, or gain, associated with it. You can increase the gain for a given device on a MacBook by adjusting the setting in the System Preferences.
