How to Include College Credits on a Resume
The goal of a resume is to highlight your relevant experience and skills that make you an ideal job candidate. Your higher education can play a significant role in helping you stand out among other applicants, especially if your coursework is applicable to the desired position. There is not just one way to include college credits on a resume, but a few different options --- depending on how many credits you earned, how recent your education was and how relevant the courses are to the job.

Create a heading called "Education." If you have been working for less than five years, list your education above your job experience. If you have been in the work force for longer than five years, your education should appear below your job experience.

Go to the next line, write the name of your degree and the subject in which you earned it, followed by a comma, the name of the school, another comma and it's location. For example, write, "Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, Stanford University, Palo Alto, CA." If you did not complete a degree, leave that out and just list the school and location.

Create a list with bullet points under the heading for the school. List any of the applicable information described below.

Write how many credits you completed, what degree you were pursuing and the dates you attended school if you did not complete your degree and have no plans to finish it in the immediate future. For example, you might type, "Completed 45 semester hours toward B.A. in Psychology, 2008-2009" or "Earned 33 credits in general education, 2007-2009."

Write your anticipated graduation date if you are still actively pursuing your degree. For example, you might write, "Have completed 96 credits toward B.A. in Psychology with anticipated completion in June 2012."

List your GPA if it was 3.0 or above. If your school has a scale with a number other than 4.0 as the maximum, indicate this as well.

List a few relevant course titles that demonstrate that your education applies to the position. For example, you might write, "Courses included counseling psychology, abnormal psychology and psychology of learning."

List any relevant honors, awards or extracurricular activities from your time at that college or university. These show your academic strength and ability to juggle responsibilities.

Repeat Steps 2 through 8 for each additional school you attended for higher education.
